Opened in March 1994 with the presence of President Mário Soares, The Portugal Wood has a green area of 20,850 m2. It is composed of Luso-Brazilian architecture elements.
It is divided in two parts: the recreation area and the Portuguese Poetry Alameda, which is an open path of stones in the woods, along the creek, where 22 pillars are distributed as basis for hand painted Portuguese tiles with snippets of Portuguese poetry.
