O Paço da Liberdade


On February 24th 1916 was inaugurated the new building that hosted the city hall of Curitiba until 1969 The Paço da Liberdade (Liberty Hall).

It also hosted the Paranaense Museum from 1973 to 2002. Building of eclectic architecture with art nouveau elements represented mainly by canopies of iron, the design of the wooden doors and windows.

The Paço da Liberdade was reopened on March 29, 2009, as part of the celebrations of 316 years of Curitiba.
