First Independent Presbyterian Church of Curitiba

The First Independent Presbyterian Church of Curitiba was built in 1934 in neo-classical style and its interior is clearly influenced by German architecture.

It is the first of the five temples of the Independent Presbyterian Church in Curitiba, which originated by the division of the traditional Presbyterian Church held in Brazil in 1903. It is located at Garibaldi Square in the Historical district.

Palacete Wolf

The Palacete Wolf was built in 1867 under request of the Austrian Joseph Wolf and his son Fredolin. The Wolf family never lived at this house, that housed along the time a Mason Lodge, an art school, the headquarters of the Police Corps during the Federalist Revolution and the prefecture of Curitiba in 1912/13. Became a residence during the decade of 1950 and Braun Bookstore between 1958 and early '70s, when the city bought the house.

Restored, it became in 1975 the headquarter of the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba (which has moved to the Moinho Rebouças recently). Nowadays it is a space dedicated to literature and reading. Located at Garibaldi Square, in the historic disctrict of Curitiba, it is the home to the traditional Dario Vellozo Bookstore, the Poet fair, and offers creative writing workshops, seminars and literature courses.

Garibaldi Square

Once called Largo do Rosário due to the presence of the Rosario Church in the eighteenth century and then Largo Faria Sobrinho at the end of the nineteenth century. Now it is called Garibaldi Square in honor of Giuseppe Garibaldi.

The Flower Clock of Curitiba

The Flower Clock is a gift that Curitiba won from jewelers in 1972. It is a true garden of hours, which over the year, each change of season, blooms with bright and different colors. Located in Garibaldi Square, the Flower Clock has eight meters of diameter and is driven with electronic impulses from a clock-command installed in the Church of the Rosary.

Largo da Ordem Crafts Fair - Part 2

The Largo da Ordem Fair had its origin in the Hippie Fair, that used to take place at Zacarias Square until 1972, on clothes stretched on the pavement, whereupon the Fundação Cultural de Curitiba - FCC (Cultural Foundation of Curitiba) moved it to Garibaldi Square (its new address since then).
