On the radio

How many times have been the radio condemned to its extinction? Television would condemn it, the Internet would condemn it too, the new medias as well would condemn it. It is true that today the radio no longer occupies a prominent place in people's lives and in the decoration of their living rooms, but it is a communication vehicle that still exists and still resists the time. I think its main audience is between the drivers, like me, who tune in to 91 Rock (the best radio in Curitiba in my humble opinion) every morning and usually every time I get in my car.

Batel SoHo Old Cars Fair

Another nice attraction of Batel SoHo is the Old Cars Fair. The proud owners of their well conserved old cars get together every saturday by the Espanha Square to present their jewels.

Freddo Gelateria

The Freddo Gelateria was choosen for 5 years the best icecream shop in Curitiba. Well, it certainly deserves that. There are 60 different flavors and it is hand made with italian products and fresh fruits.

During weekends it is crowded and it is one of the best atractions at Batel Soho.

Batel Soho

Ok! The name can cause temper tantrums, since the Espanha square, which is the center of the event, is not located at Batel district (but at Bigorrilho district) and SoHo means South of Houston Street, a New York district famous for its architecture, culture, food and shopping. But what happens every Saturday around these blocks is pretty cool.

The square receives, with the support of the prefecture of Curitiba and the Merchants Association of the Region of Espanha square, an antiques fair (small but charming) and concerts that range from week to week. Painting for the children; free yoga classes; and many other attractions. All surrounded by good restaurants, shops, chocolate boutiques, coffee shops, bakery and one of the best ice cream in Curitiba. Not to be missed!
