Casa Romário Martins

The Casa Romário Martins was created due to the necessity of the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba to implement a general information center on the city, and most importantly, starting a job of drawing attention to local memory. It was decided then that it would occupy the brick house built possibly at the end of the eighteenth century, located at the Largo Coronel Enéas. It is the second oldest building in the city and is also the last building the Luso-Brazilian architecture in the city. Today the building it is under restoration and its sidings have been transformed into support for an exhibition of cartoons by Chichorro Alceu (1896-1977), one of the most important cartoonists of Paraná.
Alfredo Romário Marins, born in Curitiba on December 8th, 1874, and died in Curitiba on September 10th, 1948. He was one of the main organizers of the movement which was named "Paranista" (from Paraná).

The Cable Car of XV de Novembro Street
The cable car ("Bondinho"), one of the landmarks of XV de Novembro Street or the Flower Street, the heart of Curitiba, was installed in October 1973. Since then, it has hosted an area of recreational activities and art for children from three to ten years old, under the responsibility of the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba.
In 2005, after a year and a half of no activities, the trolley went through some reforms in commemoration of the then 312 years of Curitiba.
Unfortunatly since November 2008, cultural activities and recreation in the cable car were discontinued due to lack of space, according to a spokesperson of the Cultural Foundation. The classes of painting on paper were transferred to the Public Promenade.

Cultural Foundation of Curitiba - Moinho Rebouças - Part 2
The Curitiba Cultural Foundation (FCC), after implementing an extensive restoration of cultural areas in Curitiba, has won in 2006 the Moinho Rebouças as a space to be its new headquarters and a place to conduct its cultural activities. The change may seem odd, but not if we take into account some aspects. The most famous theater operated by the institution was powder room. The largest concert hall in the city - also in charge of the foundation - is an old quarry. The building that houses an important classical orchestra is a chapel. And the theater “Novelas Curitibanas” administrated by the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba, once was a brothel.

Palacete Wolf

The Palacete Wolf was built in 1867 under request of the Austrian Joseph Wolf and his son Fredolin. The Wolf family never lived at this house, that housed along the time a Mason Lodge, an art school, the headquarters of the Police Corps during the Federalist Revolution and the prefecture of Curitiba in 1912/13. Became a residence during the decade of 1950 and Braun Bookstore between 1958 and early '70s, when the city bought the house.
Restored, it became in 1975 the headquarter of the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba (which has moved to the Moinho Rebouças recently). Nowadays it is a space dedicated to literature and reading. Located at Garibaldi Square, in the historic disctrict of Curitiba, it is the home to the traditional Dario Vellozo Bookstore, the Poet fair, and offers creative writing workshops, seminars and literature courses.
